Pool niche in sideways

Hi. My spa light niche (for Pentair light 7810600) is installed sideways, to where the mounting screw is at 3 o'clock. I have contacted Pentair, and they state that this is not a problem. However, I see all over the place, including the Pentair installation manuals, that the niche screw MUST be mounted at 12 o'clock for grounding safety. Can anyone confirm if this is, or is not, an issue? I hate to think of what it would cost to repair it.

I would imagine the niche was grounded by the builder regardless of the direction it faced. I think you can test the ground from it by not sure how.

This is the reply I got back from Pentair:
'As long as the pilot screw is going into the main port for bonding the light it will work fine and it being installed at 3oclock will not hurt it.'

Would definitely like to know how to test for proper ground.
