pool motor

we just bought our first home 2 years ago.it had a pool when we bought it,but were not given any info about pool ownership from the previous owners.this year our motor is extremely loud and making vibrating noises that im sure the neighbors are loving.the motor is 1.5 hp and the date on it is 2009.should we stay with the same hp?we know very little about pool maintenance and are trying our best.we are looking for a very cheap option but arent sure what would be best.we dont even know the size of are pool,were guessing 30 feet and its round.thank you for any advice

what other pool equipment do you have? Trying to see if you have automation or not. can you take a picture of your equipment pad?

how far is the pump from the pool? Are there any other water features: waterfall, scuppers, etc...

You prob have a single speed 1.5-2HP pump and it's 14 yrs old...ask around the nborhood and determine from those that have pools too, who do they recommend you use to have someone look at the pump and give your whole set-up a general health review...
