So here's the FULL story...
I was having issues with the electrical components (spotlight I installed above the pump as well as the pool light). Tried troubleshooting and fixing myself by replacing the fuses and whatnot. Called in an electrician and he fixed the issue. Go to turn on the pool light and it still doesn't work. Before I blew a gasket on the electrician I decided to see if it was simply a bulb issue. I removed the bulb and replaced it, and lo and behold it worked.
This is where things take a turn: I went to test the light underwater prior to reinstalling the light. Turned it on above water, then submerged. Light was still on. Turned it off then back on and the light would no longer turn on. Above water or below.
I figured one of three things had happened. 1) the bulb blew somehow. 2) minuscule amount of water seeped into the light and got to the socket. 3) slightly more than a minuscule amount of water got in and completely fried the fixture.
I once again replaced the bulb and that wasn't the issue. Now i'm stuck between the second and third possibility, and need to figure out whether or not I will need to replace the entire fixture or if there is a simpler solution.
As a side note I did notice that the GFCI breaker SEEMED to be okay.
