Pool light replacement / upgrade options

Bought my house almost 2 years ago and it had an inground pool that was built in 1983. The single pool light worked fine and was plenty bright for the smallish pool. The night I was closing the pool last fall, I turned on the light and it flashed then went out. I figured the bulb burnt out and I would deal with it in the spring.

Well, it’s spring.

I pulled the fixture out today and it’s an old Anthony model with a small halogen bulb... I was hoping it was a standard threaded socket and I could replace with an led bulb... but no such luck. The ge bulb that was in there has a 1983 date code. Impressive life span!

Anyone know of a way I can use this fixture with an LED? If not, is there a fixture that would fit this niche I could wire in?

thanks!

OP, you may want to call INYOPOOLS.COM

You need to provide them with all the details of your existing fixture as shown on the labels in pic# 3. If it isn't enough, get a measuring tape and provide them the actual dimensions of your existing light fixture.

My search for a replacement bulb based on the labels brought me here

Good luck!
