Pool is very Muddy and green

This is my 1st year as a POOL owner, so please explain me like a baby

I have a Above Ground Pool (Size 20).

I was removing the Cover yesterday, Cover had some dirty water and leafs on TOP of it, and accidentally while removing the cover, all the dirty water and leafs were slipped into my POOL. my POOL looks so muddy (like a swamp) now (Picture Attatched).

I went to Lesley shop, they told me to Take out the Leafs, Fill up the POOL up to skimmer, and run the MOTOR / FILTER , and keep cleaning FILTER every few hours.

is this the best solution?

I know I can test for the water by using the KIT. But what would you guys recommend? what do I need to add to my POOL to make it super HD clean & Germ FREE.

I would really appreciate your help.

Just read that Algae page...so basically shock the POOL, clean the filter.

Can you fill out your signature with your pool specs?

basically. By that I mean, once you have a reliable water testing kit and get the base set for the chlorine to work then yes that is basically all there is. But you could waste several hundred dollars in chlorine and not win if you skip the early steps. We don't want to see you fail, we want to see you win and you will just as all of us have.
