I redid all of my plumbing in the off season and installed a bypass for my NG heater. Mostly so that I can bypass it in the startup season until the water is balanced. My water is now sitting at 85-87 and the heater is set to 82 so it will not come on. Is there any advantage to bypassing the heater for the time being and putting it on stand-by? My concern is the stagnant water in the HX causing more issue than simply running it as normal?
