Pool Drain question

Another newbie question
I had my pavers power washed and sanded sealed witj
polymetric sand And there is sand in the bottom of the pool that my robot can't pick up.

Does that sand get sucked into the main drain and into the filter?

The main drains have surprisingly little pull. You'll have to sweep it directly over them while they're on, and take several attempts at it, or vac it out manually.

Robots are convenient and great and all. But nothing beats the old skool manual vac.

The main drain has very little suction and will only pull stuff in if you brush it directly over the drain.

Does the sand move if you brush it?

Yes it moves . I would prefer to not have it end up in the filter. I’m going to buy a handheld vac to supplement the robot.

I'm not saying it won't work. I'm saying it's more of the same weak suction of the robot.

Polymeric sand may be somewhat stuck to the floor and may require some extra oomph.

I bought one from lowes that picked up quite a bit. But I didn't
like the charging hook up. Actually I couldn't hook up the charger.

I'll try somethin else. The pump has been running for two hours and the sand hasn't moved.

So I can try again.
