Pool Construction Delay

Is anyone experiencing a delay in pool construction due to COVID19? My pool construction started mid-February and now my pool builder is telling me that he's experiencing shipping delays for the Pentair pool equipment. Did he just order the equipment at the last minute. It's been over two weeks now.

Hi KimKats! When you put everything into perspective, my pool build is the least of our worries. I just wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing the same delays. Thanks for the reply.:)

I ordered a new liner online after ordering other pool items and receiving them. That liner is stuck in limbo now. I have no idea when it will get here. Its paid for. I just bought another liner from a local pool place that should be shipped soon. Everything is closed.

I have a friend who works at UPS and they are approaching Christmas season volume...without the preparation for it. I'm sure they are catching up now but it was like from one week to the next the entire country started buying what they could online. This has set off such a chain reaction that is impacting almost everything. It's stinks though. I assume you have a similar swimming season like I do 3 months, 4 with a heater. Good luck!

I am on waiting a week for an Amazon order :(
You would think with a trillion (yes, a trillion) dollar company such as Amazon, they would "waive" the Prime membership fee for this year considering hardly nothing is being delivered in 1-2 days since the COVID-19...but I understand...that is asking too much....smh

I am beginning to think this order got lost in the shuffle.................A order we placed for something else has been charged to our card and is on the way. Will be pinging them to see what is up with the other order!

Yep, short season like you do. That heater is part of the equipment that's being held up. Hope to be swimming by early June if I'm lucky. As of now, I'm just sick of staring at a half finished job in my backyard everyday with 8 weeks of accumulated trash staring at me every time I walk through the living room. Even worse, I'm at home all day working with the stay-at-home order in place. In my effort to straighten up the backyard, I've been cleaning up the mess they left behind. It rained a little last week so I pulled up these huge slabs of concrete that were left in my yard from them spraying the concrete deck. Pulled up the tape they used to cover up the deck drain when the deck was poured. The tape was causing little puddles close to the foundation of the house. Even though there's still a trash pile, my backyard looks a little better than it did before I did all that anal retentive work. Guess I'll remain happy that I'm COVID19 free (as far as I know).

Just a thought: Why not just install all the equipment without the heater? Install a bypass around heater.

It's been said you should not run water through the heater for the first 30 days as the pool is curing and there is plaster dust (more critical to a SWG than a heater, but still could be an issue).

FYI, Amazon can ship a 3HP VS pump by 4/20-23.

Greetings, same here. I am getting a fiberglass pool installed. I am having a delay because our PB could not get the oversized load permit. The shell is done, and all other permits have been secured. He called and let us know it should be resolved, we are fortunate to only have about a week delay though. Everything else seems to be on track so far. I am actually surprised at how little impact there has been so far. I told both the PB and landscapers that we are fine with any delays if it meant keeping their crews home.

My builder is not even allowed to work in PA. Ours is pushed back at least a month at this point.
Wow, that stinks!

In Florida, ALL construction is deemed essential. On our job sites, we have to take precautions like screening every morning, maintaining social distancing, and wearing proper masks and gloves on the job site.

That would be great but I don't have any equipment. lol Your comment does make me wonder if maybe there's only one piece of equipment being held up, not all of it and he's just waiting for that one piece in particular. I'll have to ask him. I can't run the SWCG for a month after the plaster is poured either.
