Pool Build (San Diego) - POOL FILLED PICS 8/31

Re: Pool Build (San Diego) - BEACH ENTRY PICTURES ADDED 8/27

They are doing some really great looking rock work. I especially like the random patterns/pieces on the coping. It looks terrific like that.

Here are the photos at the end of the day of the beach entry... the plaster guys were complaining about the irregular stone but the finish look I think is worth their hard efforts.
Tomorrow we turn this pool BLUE!

I can't see these pictures for some reason  Really interested to see the beach entry progression - it was looking good so far from the previous photos.

Very nice. I really love that rock! I can't wait to see it finished with water in it. I think the contrast between the beach entry and the rest of the pool is going to look really cool.

Re: Pool Build (San Diego) - POOL FILLING NOW 8/30

We officially started filling the pool at 7:30am this morning. There is still rock work and cleanup to do but we should be swimming tomorrow! I hope to upload photos later today if I have a chance - I have to work with the PB to connect my inside wiring to the Intellitouch to make the controller work (Screenlogic on Ipad) but we should be good by tonight.

Woohoo! Congrats! :whoot:

The interior finish is beautiful - what color is that? Can't wait to see it filled up, it's going to be amazing!

It is Stonescapes Midnight Blue - hopefully as the pool gets filled up later today I'll be able to send some photos. In the meantime I have to go start working in the heat/humidity to get this low voltage wiring hooked up for the PB so we can get the equipment started up tonight. At least the heat will be welcome this weekend for swimming!

Re: Pool Build (San Diego) - NIGHT SHOT 8/30

Some friends came over tonight to check out the water... feels great to finally swim! We still have some rock work and soft scape to complete but its a major milestone we hit today. Very happy that my PB did live up to his word and got us swimming by Labor Day!

Looks beautiful Dave. It got done amazingly fast too. I really like the work they did, especially the stone/sand transition on the beach entry.
Very cool! You should be very proud and I know you are.

Here are my first test results from my TF-100 kit. The PB just dropped a few chlorine pucks in the skimmer a few hours ago but no measurable levels yet detected.

FC - 0
CC - 0
pH - 8.2+
TA - 100
CH - 160
CYA - 0
Borates - n/a

I sent my PB a txt requesting him to add more muriatic acid as the Stonescapes product is not supposed to have a PH this high... hopefully he responds soon!

Happy Labor Day everyone!

I would get that on his priority list or ask him if it's OK for you to do it.

It needs to come down into the 7's and stay there, as you probably know.

Very nice pool. :goodjob:

I recognize that view of Gillespie Field. Although, I have to admit I've never seen it so low to the ground from THAT angle. I always gave that hill you live on a sufficiently wide berth, especially at night!

Many an entry in my logbook for KSEE. Half of them with elation arriving on a friday evening to visit my girlfriend; the other half somewhat sad, departing to go back to work. Guess it all worked out for the better -- happily married to her now :-D

Enjoy your new pool. It looks fantastic.

Have you ever thought about asking your neighbor to change that wood fence to a wrought iron fence for about two or three more sections? Either way it is a beautiful view.

Hi Flippy - yes we actually just discussed that recently with them. Hopefully they give the ok :) Would be nice to get a little more view although we are not complaining about the one we have.

We added the acid this morning (PB came by) and now the PH is around 7.0-7.2 and he said to expect it to continue to creep up as the pepple finish pools tend to have the PH jump around a bit for the first month. I'm going to try to keep an eye on it.

Thanks Foobert! I solo'd on my 16th birthday and although I haven't flown in close to 10 years I still love airplanes. Living in view of KSEE is a big plus in my book - we have front row seats for "Wings Over Gillespie" airshow every year which is fantastic. My little one is only 2 years old but already likes airplanes and talks about them all the time when we are in the backyard. I hope his interest in them continues later on in life. One of these days I will have to do a "intro flight" at the local training center just to have the chance to do a few touch and go's on the runway over here.
