Hi folks, very happy I found this forum site.

So many questions not clear where to start getting the info we need to start the process? Thinking learning about the in's and out's of hiring a competent pool installer then understanding what we need versus what the installer wants to add that we don't need. Salt versus chlorine, etc.

Can someone point to where we start our schooling?

Thanks, Kevin

Welcome to the forum!

I would suggest Pool School. Link at the top right of the page.

Also look at the build threads.

Welcome again -- take care.

Hi! Welcome to TFP!!

Make sure you get at least 4 bids for your pool, and follow Marty’s advice about reading (and rereading) Pool School and read the build threads. You can use the search bar at the top to look for builds similar to what you are planning to do, ie. AGP, gunite, fiberglass, vinyl, etc.

HIGHLY recommend a SWG! SWG is a chlorine system (vs using liquid chlorine, aka bleach, or pucks which add other things that you don’t want). With a SWG, you will have the easiest type of sanitizer to maintain your pool.

Make sure you start your own build thread and include LOTS of pictures! We love pictures!!

Blessings!

Welcome!

Head over to the under construction forum to find tons of info.

My only warning is there is so much info on this site I find it hard to actually search for anything and get the results I want. Hopefully you have better results than me :)
