Hey there - having a huge iron problem from refilling after the winter with well water. I’ve put Polyfill in the skimmer basket and it is working well. Any reason I shouldn’t put Polyfill in the main drain pump basket? Thanks!

My only worry would be restricting supply flow to your pump. Too much blockage could choke your pump. DO you mean the pump basket that's part of your pump? in that case I would worry being so close to the impeller that you could catch a strand of the polyfill in your impeller and entangle it to the point that it seizes, at which point you would risk motor damage.

I wouldn't. You want the poly somewhere readily accessible. Try something like this.
