How does everyone deal with pollen in their pool? We receive so much yellow pollen that coats every outdoor surface including the top of the pool water. Do we need to worry about adding additional chlorine during this time?

Do you have a skimmer you can add a skimmer sock in? Adding a smidgen of pool DE to the filter may help too.

A clean pool filter will increase the efficiency of your pool! ... your filter are to backwash it, clean the manifolds and grids, and add new DE.

Skimmer sock. Remember to check it daily.
Mine had clogged and reduced filter flow significantly. For all the pollen that settled into various clumps on the floor I vacuum with a Hayward navigator. This year I had to backwash the sand filter immediately after as it had raised pressure 20%
