I’m hoping someone could tell me whether or not water should still be coming through my 280 when it’s not on run mode, it’s not a lot of pressure but if I take it out of the pool water keeps flowing through it, is this normal? Thanks

Yes, it's normal. You'll always get some flow through the cleaner plumbing when the main pump is running. If you want to remove the cleaner from the pool entirely, you'll need to disconnect it from the wall fitting. I generally just push mine into a corner and leave it in the pool. I only remove it entirely when we have guests.
