We're getting a new liner in our pool in a few weeks and I'm taking the opportunity to just overhaul pretty much everything. So adding the Circupool EDGE 40 and Circupool 1.5HP VS pump to my system (replacing a Hayward 1HP Superpump). I am also going to remove an auto-chlorinator and booster pump (both of which we've never used - there when we moved in) to make the space, and I figure the flow of water, more efficient. I plan on connecting the booster pump line to the main feed as another normal return. All of the piping for the pool is 1 1/2".

My question is, since so much of the piping is going to be reconfigured and all of the unions for the new SWCG and pump are 2", should I change all of the visible/accessible piping to 2"? Or would there be a downside to doing that?

Thanks!
