Ok, So I have a brand new SWG system ready to install. I was going to attempt this myself (I have done a fair share of plumbing repairs and home gut/remodels) But the piping out of my older ComfortZone/Hayward PSGII 255 pool heater is an older metal union and stupid long. I reached out to Hayward to see if they can recommend a new union but they referred me to my local pool stores. I tried them and a local plumber and none of them could find a replacement union. So I need your help to figure out how to put my SWG in. The outlet is the far pipe.

Ok, this is so frustrating. Here is what I am thinking of doing. Cutting the outlet copper a few inches below the bend. Soldering in a copper flange, inserting a plastic union, installing the swg, cutting the lower adapter adding another union?

What model SWG are you installing? You really don't want to install a flow switch with the flow down.

Yup, Hayward does not warn about installing the flow switch with downward water flow. Some others do. If the spring on the flow switch fails you want gravity to keep it open.

Where are you connecting the power for the SWG into to ensure the SWG is only powered when the pump is running?

Ok, I should have ran the plans through you all first but I am willing to make any changes if you have any. The copper Union at the heater was really tricky....I had to solder a threaded Joint in.
