Also curious how the spillover works. Since I’m sucking water from pool and spa, and sending water back to pool and spa, wouldn’t i just Be equalizing the spa water i am Sucking thus no spillover?

any feedback on this and final diagram above is appreciated
 
The spillover in designed to work with valves set at full suction from the pool. It takes a bit of the pool return water and sends it to the spa to maintain circulation and to add ambience by sending water over the spillway into the pool.

i guess It was my understanding in normal circulation mode you take water from the pool (drains and skimmers) and from the spa skimmer.

i have this Wrong? I think I’m confusing myself i have Looked at this indetail.

i thought you Always take water from pool and spa and always return to pool and spa.

the question becomes
1) why did my previous pool have that loop? Is there some type of issue when in spa only mode and not having chlorine gojng into the spa during this time? (As it bypasses the chlorine in spa only mode)

2) previous pool spa always all the time spilled over in spa. Is this what i wqnt? If not how do i modify Plumbing?

3) previous spa has 6 jets and i think 1 return line. Why the seperate return line?
