Plugging filters, heater, etc?

Hey folks, I live in a cold region so freeze is an issue. I just closed my pool 2 weeks ago and I have a nagging question as I am not sure I did a couple of things correctly.. Should I re-plug all my equipment - heater, sand filter, pump - after I drain out all the water? This is what I actually did.

Also, when I blew out my lines (using a shop vac) some water came out of the waterfall, some came out of the jet in the deep end (not much though) and nothing came out of the jet in the shallow end. Should I be concerned?

Thoughts? Thanks!

I always recommend to people to do what they feel comfortable with as long as there is no potential for damage with the procedure. Once the drain plugs are removed, I do not take any further action. Some people do cover up as a precautionary measure.

Can you go into a little more detail (a lot of detail would be better), on what exactly you did. Was water lowered? Where did you hook up the shop vac? What type of pool do you have?

Based on what you wrote, it appears you have not cleared out the lines properly and there should be some concern, but we will ensure that you close your pool properly. You may need an air compressor, if the shop vac is not successful.

Can you please explain your pool in detail? This includes the skimmer(s), main drain, returns, etc. If possible, please take pictures of the equipment pad from top, front and both sides as a visual really helps. Thanks!
