So the cell was super calcified, but I chipped as much off as I could. Honestly there is still some on there but it’s much better looking. I don’t think the reset method mentioned is for my unit. I don’t have a toggle, it’s all just buttonsThe temperature sensor is probably bad.
The amps are over 8.0, which might mean that the salinity is very high.
How old is the cell.
Reverse polarity and see what the readings are.

Well Heck. I really don’t want to dump another $1000 in to a pool that has so far never workedWe have had other members have problems with their cells and their systems worked properly when they used a genuine Hayward cell.
No way to change amps. The system determines the amps based on what it sees with the cell.
The amps are measured by the ammeter. You don't think the amps are high because the temperature sensor is high?
Possibly.Could this be one of the Hayward boards with a 10 amp limit rather than 8?
Acid wash the cell.So the cell was super calcified, but I chipped as much off as I could. Honestly there is still some on there but it’s much better looking.
Press the + button to reverse polarity.I don’t think the reset method mentioned is for my unit. I don’t have a toggle, it’s all just buttons

I have none of the testers. This was an abandoned house we bought and don’t know anything about any of the pool stuff. The menu option isn’t there on mine to reverse polarity. It only seems to show up for the 1 second the thing tries to turn on.What is the actual salinity?
You need at least two very reliable salinity tests including a K-1766 and an electronic meter.
What is the cell type set in the menu?
How old is the cell?

I have no clue. There is no model number and I don’t know what plates to measure or how. I literally only know that water goes in a pool and at some point the water goes through all the mechanical stuff. I have the knowledge of a five year old lolThe plates look like the shorter plates, which means they might be for a T-9 cell.
How old is the cell?
What is the model number of the cell?
Can you count the plates and measure the length of the plates?
Here are the dimensions of the Hayward plates:
T-15 has 13 Titanium Plates, 150 x 63mm. Produces 1.47 lbs/day.
T-9 has 13 Titanium Plates, 101 x 63mm. Produces 0.98 lbs/day.
T-5 has 7 Titanium plate, 150 x 63mm. Produces 0.735 lbs/day.
T-3 has 7 Titanium Plates, 101 x 63mm. Produces 0.53 lbs/day.

You need to know the actual salinity with good certainty.I have none of the testers.
Can you show a picture of the door label including the serial number?
