Playlists

I use the Sirius app and alternate through decades and between pop/rock.
50s on 5, 60s on 6, 70s on 7, 90s on 9, Pop Rocks, Lithium, Pop 2K, and “Hits 1” when I’ve got a younger crowd to entertain.

(Sorry, 80s fans, it’s not personal. 🤣)

Prog metal, melodic/symphonic metal, power metal, 80s-90s metal..... and occasionally 90's country! (yes, really!)

We typically play for our companies taste as well. Cant say I have ever heard of Yacht rock. Gonna have to google this one!
Yacht Rock = Christopher Cross, Air Supply, Kenny Loggins, Steely Dan, Toto
I have zero clue what music I’m into anymore, looking at my most frequently played music it includes the following. You figure it out……
  • Garth Brooks
  • Kid Rock
  • BB King
  • Billy Joel
  • 2-PAC
  • Fort Minor
  • Johnny Cash
  • Naturally 7
I have NO idea what’s wrong with me 😂
You are all over the place...and there's nothing wrong with that!

I made a playlist of songs and it hits 60's-90's. Maybe a few from the 00-10's. I basically stopped listening to current music once I hit 30 yrs old. I guess I'm becoming stuck in my era. 🤣

And yes I have a strange playlist... John Lennon, kenny rogers, johnny cash, bush, garth brooks, ccr, sia, billy joel, hamilton soundtrack 🤣, aerosmith, madonna. Lots of one hit wonders. I even have 2 christmas songs on there... my playlist is "poolside"...
I totally forgot about Hamilton until this post. It’s been on all morning now

We have an apple TV by the pool, so I just pick up the remote and say:
"Play Robert Earl Keen Radio" - Texas Country
"Play Soggy Dollar Bar Radio" - Good mix of Caribbean/Country/Upbeat summerish songs, from my favorite bar in the whole world in the British Virgin Islands (its really cool and I highly recommend stopping by/swimming up if you are ever there"
"Play Jimmy Buffet Radio"
Last weekend I tried to change it up by going to Bob Marley Radio, but about 10 songs into the playlist they threw me a curveball song by some new artist with some pretty uncomfortable lyrics that would have made Snoop Dog blush. I'm no prude, but not exactly what I was going for when trying to enjoy the pool with the teen daughter.

Play Soggy Dollar Bar Radio
Who knew there was a Soggy Dollar Bar channel?! Best bar I’ve ever been to! SDB Challenge: swim in, drink, swim out.

Like a couple of others, I’m a Pandora fan. I’ve built up 10+ years of “likes” and I get surprised all the time with a song I wouldn’t have thought to add to a playlist. There’s just some about not knowing what’s going to play next, but knowing it will be some you like.

Oh, they even have a webcam setup. I've been known to turn that on, sit in the pool with a painkiller, and pretend I'm there. Its certainly not as good, but that swim back to the boat is much easier :)

Got Spotify Premium account as soon as we put in the pool. Most friends have the app on their phones and they tie into our network. We take turns playing what we each like....until somebody starts whining!

Amazon Music app, Amazon Prime, and an Alexa tied into a receiver / amplifier that runs to the 3 sets of refurbished with much better speakers dual drive in movie theater speakers in the yard.

I have a couple of playlists that go all over the place.

During the day at work I stream Radio Paradise on an Alexa unit in my office. If you listen to Radio Paradise, the music he plays runs the gamut. I hear something on there, say "that is pretty cool" and have a new artist to add to my playlists. That is why they range from Three Dog Night, to Bob Marley, to Ugly Kid Joe, to Van Morrison, to The Breeders, to White Stripes, to RL Burnside, to The Gourds and a whole bunch of other stuff.

Here is what was recently on their stream

I'm kind of old school, I stream the community radio station out of Tucson - KXCI, except Sundays when I put on Pandora and that will either be Arabic techno/ belly dance, surf, or Norteno/ranchera. LOL I have really esoteric taste.
