Thank you all for your help over the past year. I now have perfectly balanced and sanitized water. I'm very happy with that, but there is one problem that vexes me: these weird stains that keep popping up on my beautiful white, one-year-old plaster (see the attached photos). The stains in the photographs are fairly new, maybe an inch or so in size. This is how they start out. Over time, they grow to about two or three times this size and go from this black color to kind of a smudgy gray. So they aren't huge, but they are very frustrating and I would do just about anything to get rid of them. I've tried a number of chemicals -- vitamin C and trichlor tablets -- but no luck so far.
I guess I'm looking for suggestions and some kind of protocol I can follow to get rid of these stains. I did find one service online that offers to get rid of stains (https://www.poolstainremovers.com/), but when I got them on the phone they would not guarantee their service. What do you think?
