Hello Everyone
I am fairly new to this forums and only been a pool owner for 2.5 years. We are located in south Florida where is rains a lot, high humidity. Pool is always filled above mid half of skimmer due to heavy rain and was told to never drain pool because of the pressure after heavy rain. We barely need to fill pool due to rain and maybe need to add water 2-3 times a year when there is no rain during winter months.

On December 2022 we redid the pool titles and resurfaced the plaster Diamond Brite. The whole job took 10 days from the time we emptied the pool to the time we refilled it, it was fairly quick.

Unfortunately we do not use the pool as much because of other commitments and life happens.

Today, about a 1.5 years later I noticed today the walls of the diamond Brite bulging in some areas and getting very concerned and stressed. Should we be worried is this? Who should we call if this is an issue? Do people have seen this?!

Hello Everyone
I am new to this forum site and a pool owner for the last 2.5 years. We live in South Florida where is rains a lot. Pool is always filled and above the middle of the skimmer.

On Dec 2022 we retiled the pool with glass tiles and resurfaced the pool with Diamond Brite plaster. It took 10 days for the job: From the time we emptied the pool to the time we filed it back.

We don’t use the pool as much with our hectic and busy life.

Fast forward 1.5 years later I noticed today that my pool’s wall had this bumps popping like a bulge and it’s towards the deep end that I noticed it the most.

Should we be worried? Have people seen this before? Is this a normal occurrence? Who should I call? This is stressing me a lot!

How unfortunate, sorry to hear. There are many posts and threads here in TFP about it, such as this one yesterday and many more if you search "plaster bubble" or delamination. I'll have to read more of those myself because I'm wondering if this problem is akin to paint jobs wherein the longevity is all about surface preparation and the proper mixing of quality materials when applying a new layer of surface material. And/or the weather conditions while applying the new layer. Thoughts anyone?

The new plaster did not properly bond to the old plaster and is delaminating. The old plaster surface was not correctly prepared.

Call the contractor who did the replaster. You should have a warranty on the work.
