Hug Upcharge...Stonescapes Puerto Rico Finish in a pool my size is $8800.00.
I don't think that i can justify that one. I think I will just go for a ton f Abalone.

Okay need your help folks. My big design plan is scaring me? I wanted my spa to look like a natural lake. I have gone back and forth witha different finish in the spa (they show black, but thinking more grey). I am wanting to do an aqua or a Tahoe blue in the pool. i am thinking the different color is a bad idea. What's missing from this design any suggestions how I can make it look more natural. Really upset with myself, as they are all done with Rebar and now would have to delay and re-do! Am I missing Greenery? Does it need more of a rock closure at the end of the sunshelf area? I am thinking of losing the shiny mirrored tile in the spa and around the front, and doing something very natural? (I love bling). Is it going to look cool and I am just being silly? I really thought i had this, but now that I am closer, I think I planned this poorly? Would love any suggestions or thoughts anyone has out there. I hate to be THAT customer. i am lovingly referring to myself as "Poolzlla," from now on!

-lose the rocks on the shelf and those that extend into the spa. They will be awful to clean around The flagstone on the shelf will be enough to to make it stand out and look more natural.
-spa color-SURE go with a different color that matches the flagstone. Don't go too dark as dark plaster is VERY hard to get right Most end up unhappy with it due to mottling. I would even think about a "sand" color. Don't get much more natural than that!!
-You will NOT believe I, Kim the BLING QUEEN, is going to say this but .........yes lose the bling tiles in the spa if you want a natural look in there. Try to match your flagstone and plaster color.
You do not need to redo the rebar to me. Why do you think you need to?

Have you scoured sites like Houzz to find pictures of your dream? I'm just not entirely sure about making the spa and pool look different from each other. Do you want the whole effect to be "natural"?

Agree with Kim 100%. Although I do love the dark colors...the sand color in the spa would look neat. I did sand on my tanning ledge and midnight blue in the pool. I love it all...but the sand is my favorite part of the entire pool. Lots of abalone on the tanning ledge and it is GORGEOUS!!! If I had a second home and decided to build a pool...I would go all sand color. I want to see someone here build a solid Stonescapes sand colored pool to see if I am right about how stunning it would be. For now, I'd settle with a sand colored spa to see. LOL! Best of luck with your choices. No matter what you decide, this is going to be beautiful!!
In my opinion all those rocks are going to look Disneyesque rather than natural. Go easy there.

This design is so beautiful love it. I need to move south as we are in LI by the beach like you were. Doing a minimal pool compared to this design as so $$$$ here. As well as now we get hit with the $10,000 limit on federal tax deduction. I Keep reading in the news about how many people will be leaving NY and California for this reason. I wish I could pick up and move to do nicer pool but will be happy to just have a pool honestly. Like my husband says why spend so much when we can only use the pool a few months of the year as well. Will be looking forward to see this design come to life.

Spa Update. We added a small waterfall coming into the spa, and some planters. the picture is clearly off a little, but you can definitely get the idea. We are also going to scale back the planters, and move the steps over some (if property setback allows). I am going to finish the whole pool in Stonescapes Midnight(another upgrade ). AND of course here it comes KIM tons of Abalone bling. 5-6 bags! LOVE BLING. We are doing a glass tile for a little more shimmer. I hope you all like it. I am feeling good about it and excited. Now, if we could just keep the rain away!

Thanks for the pictures. The last two both fit my vision. I think it is difficult to get thin Field stone these days, but I am feeling confident that my PB and I are on the same page. I think it will be great. I appreciate your support! I think have officially become "Poolzilla!"

LOVE IT!!!! That is going to be SO pretty!!! I can already here the sighs of contentment as you settle in and enjoy that spa area!

Thanks Kim! I am sleeping a lot better. Just need to finalize a fence contractor, architect, contractor for the bathroom, underdecking contractor, and landscape architect...no biggie:sad: It's great to hear that someone as knowledgeable as you, likes the vision. I am afraid we had to go without the beads....Just hard to justify the cost. We are however going to add more abalone than our PB has EVER added to a pool, and have the glass tile! Love the ideas of having the kids add it... I will ask!
