Photobucket has disabled third party hosting

I haven't seen those issues yet but I'm still fairly new at using the app. I wish there was a better option as well. I have no interest in keeping it if/when something better rolls along.
Is there anyway someone with Mod skills can break out the Tapatalk discussion since it has seemed to gain a life of its own on this thread?

I think it is finished now and relevant to the discussion because some folks use tapatalk to host their pics.

I just got the latest Tapatalk update. You can now see signatures in their entirety. I haven't seen any adds recently either.

I have 6.5.6 which appears to be latest from May. And still can not see signatures. Maybe there is s new option I am not aware of.

Also saw a note that if paid before ads started in the past might get free upgrade to VIP.

Have you uploaded them to TFP? Where are you replacement pictures?

No, I haven't uploaded to TFP yet. I have about 350, do not sure I can load that many plus more as time goes on. I have deleted some used for one-time help on others' posts. But some I use more often and would like to keep.

My replacement pictures are on my phone gallery (Android). The pictures of my pool build from the photobucket are also on my computer.

You can try using one of the other hosting sites for that many pictures. I am not sure you can store that many on TFP

Thanks, Jason. I think you're right. I just haven't had time to get anything new set up. Then I'll have to figure out how to fix the broken links on posts. I did google but didn't have any luck. I'm really not ready yet to fix the posts/threads; not sure why last night I got a bug to know how to do that.

I think your top priority should be to work with Lee on getting your build thread fixed. You should go through the build thread and determine what images are critical and identify the Post # that goes with a particular image. Then work with Lee to get those images uploaded to TFP and rework the links.

Everything else will have to wait. 350 modern cell phone camera image files will be way too much to upload to TFP. IF there are images that you really need, then I suggest you use the Image Gallery upload feature so that they are uploaded to TFP and you can easily cut and paste the link to them into any future post.

I tried TinyPic. Dislike. all the ads made it so slow that I gave up.

Very odd.... Ive never had tinypic be slow or seen ads. I do have an ad blocker on my computer of course...
I was under the impression Imgur was meant for humorous things....not general photo uploads?? <shrug> I dunno?

Imgur hosts photos as well BUT their TOS is very explicit that if you use their site for 3rd party hosting and they become aware of you (i.e., you hit their bandwidth too hard) then they will shutdown your account.

I have to agree with Lee's prediction on this matter that all photo upload services will eventually start charging for hosting/linking. Whether or not they do this as dumb and ham-fisted as Photobucket did is yet to been seen....

Yep, bandwith, servers and storage space are not free. If you aren't paying or looking at their ads then the business model isn't going to work.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll hit Lee up with this maybe in 10 years or so! Lol! For now, I'd rather talk to him about the problems with the PoolMath app and Tap-a-Talk. Just kidding again!

I will give him some time, and right now, I don't have the time either. I think it might be easier to delete about 80% of my posts on my build thread.
