Phosphate removal

Hi.
This is our 3rd time opening our above ground 24ft round pool. This year we have had nothing but problems and no success with any of the things we have been told to do. It would not hold chlorine for weeks. We finally solved that and were then told it was still cloudy due to phosphates.

5 days ago we emptied a quart of phosphate removal and were told our numbers are off the chart still and to add another bottle. The pool looks like milk. We are cleaning the filter daily and while are numbers are finally balanced it looks horrible . Help!

Welcome to the forum!
You need to follow the SLAM Process. To do that, you need a proper test kit, see Test Kits Compared. I suggest the TF-100 A proper test kit is needed to get the accurate water chemistry results needed to follow the TFP protocols.

While you are waiting on your test kit, add 5 ppm FC worth of liquid chlorine / plain bleach to your pool each evening with the pump running. This will replenish the FC lost each day to the sun and also inhibit any algae in the water from growing further.
I suggest you read ABC's of Pool Water Chemistry.

This will be our 3rd summer opening our pool and we've had a lot of trouble clearing the water this time around.

It was a little green when we first took the cover off so he shocked it and the green went away but it was still cloudy.

We have been told to do so many things; shoked it again, alkalinity too high, ph to high, ph too low, cooper removal, it's been nothing but a headache. We couldn't get the free chlorine to hold and when we finally got the levels to balance and the chlorine to hold it was still cloudy so they said we needed to use phosphate removal.
Well that just seemed to make it worse it's been 5 days of cleaning the filter every day and vacuumed and now they want us to dump another phosphate removal because they say the phosphates are off the chart but the levels are balanced. .

I took the same pool water to a different store and got a completely different set of results and to do's. I am attaching both results from the 2 stores. Help!

The pool store testing is inaccurate. We can't give advice based on that. You need to get your own test kit, either the TFT-100 or the Taylor K-2006C. Both are ways to get Taylor testing reagents you can use to take control of your pool.

The pool stores are telling you random ideas and you're shelling out money in chemicals to them. Stop! Spend the $70-80 on a quality test kit and you make it back by getting out of the pool stores, and using standard liquid chlorine.

You may need to drain a bit of water and refill if your CYA is high. Other than that, you can do the SLAM Process and get this cleared up. We can help, but you need reliable testing for us to assist.
