Thanks to Leebo and Newdude - the cliff metaphor is a good one. I've been quite clear in our intent to follow the FC/CYA ratio but with a hope that phosphate removal would allow us to aim for the lower half and not use as much chlorine. The use of Orenda was beneficial (latest test shows 125 ppb) and the timing was excellent since a cartridge cleaning was due.
