I have owned my pool for 10 years. Was Newly built. No issues until leslies last weel advised me my phosphates were very high. 550 ppb. Stupidly, I added phosfree remover. Not ever thinking I don't need it because I have no algae to begin with. Now, after adding the phosfree remover. My pool pump is not filtering properly. I have to increase the speed to almost 3000 rpm. The water flow is so low now. I've cleaned my cartridge filters 5 times since last week. No change. Do I need to add a clarifier, buy new filters, or drain 1/2 my pool. After I give the leslie guy an ear full. All suggested welcomed..

How much PhosFree did you add? When I used to use it on my 10000 gal pool I used 1 1/2 caps full each week. I'm doubtful this is the cause and you might just need to replace your filter cartridges if this product truly clogged up your filter. How old are your cartridges and how have you maintained them up to now? This all could be evidence that you have algae that you can't see yet. Read through Pool School - you should run an OCLT. Stop going to the pool store, get yourself a recommended test kit and use only liquid chlorine - no pucks.

Use Orenda PR10000 it works and there is fall out. I have a de filter and between that and the robot with fine filters I get it out. If I have a problem and use a lot I need to clean the filter. If it’s a maintenance dose - the backwash is enough.
