Water temps are in the lower 50's, So swimming is out of the question. Occasionally water temp drops below 52 and SWG shuts down. Since we do have a connected SPA, we will be in the water. Pool naturally sets at 8.0 which puts csi at -0.17. Should I continue to add acid to keep it at 7.8? With the cold water the csi will go about -0.40

Keeping pH in the range of 7.8 to 8.0 is fine. If the pH wants to sit at 8.0 then let it.
