Hi everyone, so I know the pH for slamming should be 7.2. I’m shutting down the pool for the year and my pH 7.5 and I hate to buy another whole bottle of muriatic acid, can I slam with that level or no??

can I slam with that level or no??
You can. While we recommend a pH of 7.2 - 7.4 for a regular SLAM that usually takes several days to even a week or two, your pre-closing FC level will probably not be expected to last that long. So if you're closing soon, I'd say go for it.

Why is it so low?
Only because during a regular SLAM we increase the FC considerably from its normal range. That increase, anywhere from 12 - 31 ppm at times, causes the pH to rise and we don't want the pH excessively high for an extended (SLAM) period.
