Permit costs in Austin, Texas

Has anyone gone through permitting a pool in Austin? I’m in the middle of permitting and so far the fees are about $2,000. Permit app and tree permit review about $615. Building permit and tree survey about $850. Plumbing permit and electric permits about $500.

I’m having sticker shock and thought they wouldn’t be so high.

I am pulling homestead permits for the electrical line to the equipment of and plumbing to tap for the auto filler line. Want to make sure I’m being billed properly and guided to the right permits.

Are you working directly with the city to pull permits or is the builder pulling them for you?

I am pulling them and I am the owner builder.

Ok, well if the city says that's what you need, right or wrong that's what they are going to charge you. You might ask if there is a higher up you can speak with to clarify some questions if you think they are not issuing the correct permits.

I budgeted roughly 1k for our owner build. Tile and coping start tomorrow. I didn't have any tree permitting or tree survey so Im about 1k less right now
