Hi, I have a Pentair Intellivalve Valve Actuator and the Auto/Off light is blinking red and the yellow SERVICE light remains on. When I try to push the red valve button I hear "clicking" and "whirring". The valve seems to be stuck in the "spa return mode". I assume I need a new actuator device (it's still relatively new) and supposedly under warranty, but dealing with Pentair Warranty has been a struggle.

They have referred to "local" providers (I live in NJ) but everyone they give us tells us we are "not in their service area" or have gotten bad reviews and don't return messages. I would attempt to fix this myself but I don't know enough about pools/pool equipment. If anyone has ideas or if there is something I can try to do to fix it I would appreciate any advice. All of this happened after a local power outage. I tried resetting all of the breakers hoping it would be a simple fix but it didn't work. Help! Thanks - J

Welcome to TFP.

Where is - J$pqP6$#xYh!Yx?M ?

The IntelliValves are not well sealed and get water inside that corrodes the motor. You can read...

Your Intellivalve needs replacement.

I would consider replacing it with a standard actuator from Pentair, Hayward, Jandy, or Tork. They are not hard to replace if you can use a screwdriver and follow instructions.

This assists us in providing you help without needing to ask you each time for this important information.

The Intellivalve is prone to water intrusion - a known issue.
Allen's (@ajw22) recommendation is based on his knowledge of that issue.
