Pentair Wireless Controller 4 or 8?

Right now I have question about assigning functions to the AUX buttons on the wireless controller. (Actually this probably also applies to doing the same thing on the EasyTouch outdoor panel). The AUX #1 button has already been assigned to the air blower. This was likely done by the installer when the EasyTouch control panel was initially installed. I want to assign AUX #2 to high-speed jets (3000 rpms) & AUX #3 to low-speed Jets (2400 rpms). I have tried a number of things in the menu without success. I'm sure that this is rather simple; but I'm not having any luck.

Any guidance would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

Here is my situation. I only have an inground spa. I have no pool & no externals sources such as waterfalls, lighting, etc. The EasyTouch system simply automates the spa. So the only functions that we use are high & low jets, as well as the air blower.

Update: In my quest to assign high- and low-speed pump functions to the AUX buttons on my EasyTouch Wireless Controller, I seem to be getting closer. I navigated as follows: Menu>Settings>Circuit Names>Circuit #4 (AUX 2) to which I assigned Low Speed (2,400 rpms). Similarly, I I assigned High Speed (3,000 rpms) to Circuit #5 (AUX 3). Both of these pump speeds were already assigned in the VS pump circuits. However, the speeds do not change when the AUX buttons on the wireless controller are pressed. Obviously I am missing something. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

The circuits, speeds and function are linked by the “Circuit Name”. That’s how Pentair “logic” works. Hmmm … vocabulary you show pictures of what your EasyTouch panel says for each of those areas in the setup?

I will take photos of those menu items tomorrow. However, as I recall, all of the data on the control panel is synced with the wireless controller. So I suspect that the control panel will say the same thing. But...I will send photos tomorrow. Thank you for your willingness to help me with this. BTW, stay cool & hydrated in the heat that is plaguing your area!

Hi, Matt
Well, I thought that I would take the photos of the menu on the outdoor control panel ( as you requested) before I went to bed. Everything here is identical to that on the wireless controller. But, obviously I am missing something.

Matt: Here is an update. SInce I have replaced the malfunctioning SpaSide unit with the new EasyTouch Wireless Controller, I turned off the SpaSide in the menu since I would not be using it. However, in my frustration to figure out why the AUX buttons on the wireless controller would not activate the low- and high-speed jets, I turned the SpaSide back on in the menu. Voila! The high-speed AUX button on the wireless remote worked. However...the low-speed AUX button still won't function. I am indeed perplexed. Any thoughts?

I’m on vacation and I will ponder this. However, my ET panel runs a two-water body setup - a pool and attached spa. My SPA SIDE setting is also activated.

The HIGH SPEED and LOW SPEED functions are what you might can “canned features” that are preset by Pentair. So there could be other settings that are required to activate then. For instance, I know that the AERATOR function is a pre-designed function name that sets the intake and return valves to pool and spa jets (respectively) and also activated the SWG. For whatever reason, Pentair programmed it this way and you cannot create a new function of the same name as ones pre-designed by Pentair. I created a “spillway” custom name as one of my feature circuits because Pentair already took “SPILLWAY” for themselves (names are case sensitive).

You may need to call customer support to see what they say. There could be a weird setting that needs to be activated.

Question - did you physically remove the Spa Side Remote wiring from the panel board? You may need to physically yank the remote.

Matt: So sorry to bother you on vacation. I will try unplugging the spa side connector on the control panel. Have an uninterrupted good time. I will keep you posted. Kit
