Pentair VCF Pump does not turn impeller, then trips on "Priming Dry" (B70022)

Help!! My pump is not running. What should I try next?
  • I noticed that my pump was not running, and upon investigation, the pump shows the alarm "Priming Dry" (B70022).
  • The pump is full of water. I am not sure what measurement makes it believe it is dry.
  • [With the breaker shut off] I can reach in with my hand and turn the impeller....it turns fairly easily. I don't feel any debris or obstructions.
  • When I try to start the pump, the motor sounds like a normal start (and the fan blows a bunch of air), but it does not turn the impeller (then alarms B70022 after a few seconds)....I have done it with the lid and basket removed, and am certain the impeller is not turning. Again, the pump is completely full of water.
Thanks,
Joel
