I came home and found drain plug spraying water, fortunately I had a spare plug. So with the recent pipe rebuild going to the filter compartment, I decided to clean the 2 filters. When I put the shell back in place I noticed it sat in place rather easily, as if the o-ring is not as big as before. I sprayed the silicone sealer as usual and tighten the clamps but it is not enough to seal. I have water oozing out. What to do?

Pull it apart, reclean the mating areas and the gasket. Inspect the gasket for embedded debris, damage, tears etc. Reassemble and follow the correct opposite side torque pattern on the locks. I’ll usually gently snug them all using the recommended sequence, then use the butt of my palm and give a whack to each lock as I tighten them up 2 more times. You’ll find giving them a wrap with your hand will set the locks and the bolts will have much more play as you tighten them the 2nd and 3rd time.

Problem seems to be the rubber ring is flattened so much that the upper shell is practically sitting on the bottom shell. So when I tighten the clamps its not really sqeezing the oring
Also, with the pump off the leak stopped. My hand is sprained, and finger fractured so turning those clamps is killing me

Get a new O ring, they do wear out (flatten), especially if you have a spa that is used much. Be sure to get one for the proper size System 3.

Pump was off all night no leak. This morning pump ran for 3 hours and no signs of leaking. I did not want to push my luck, so did not run at the high speed for testing. It is 10psi normal, and 28psi spa mode. I have a new O-ring but need time due to hand injury so hoping it will make it for a few more months. Maybe the cooler fall temps will help?
