I am comparing each manual (3) I have and boy pentair does not make it easy to understand. Last update to all manuals was 2022! So Here's what I have. I have an Easytouch 8 with Intellichlor and load center. . I do not want to use relays to control speed but the Automation cable. The Whisperflow VST is wired directly to my breaker (page 32 of Easytouch control system manual) and implied on (page 25 of EasyTouch and Intellichlor manual) to just use RS-485 and connect as you have. My disconnect is programming the EasyTouch controller for Dual speed usage It's clear as mud.... I get how to program one speed but not the second. Any insight would be helpful. Thxs Scott

Scott,

To tell the pump to run different speeds, you first set up the Pool Circuit for the slowest speed you ever want to run.. This speed needs to be fast enough to keep the SWCG working.

The you use Feature Circuits to make the pump run faster.

Here is an example of my speeds...

You can see the I run my Pool Circuit at 1250 RPM and this turns on my SWCG.

When I turn on Feature Circuit (Skim Low) the pump will increase speed to 1500

When I turn on Feature Circuit (Skim High) the pump will increase speed to 2000

The Key here is you want the Pool Circuit to be on for the entire time you want the pump to run and then just turn on the other speeds as needed.

When the pump sees two or more speeds at the same time, it will always run the fastest one.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Jim,
I can only program my ET8 system with the SLConfig and ScreenLogic apps, and from control panel. I don't have a windows box. I do not see either of the two Skim circuits defined on the SLConfig app in the SetupINtelliFlo screen. Are those circuits not standard?

Edit: I did just create a Feature 1 circuit and was able to assign a pump speed to it, and scheduled it. I will see shortly if it comes on.

Scott,

The Circuit Name is just that.. A name.. My name is Jim, but that does not make me a 'Jim' or what my wife calls me.

You can name most Circuits anything you want.. The System allows you to make up your own names, so you do not have to use one from the drop down list, if you don't find what you are looking for..

I use my PC to program and control ScreenLogic about 99% of the time.. It is much better than using a phone.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Jim,

The SLConfig app does not let you name the circuits. It's a menu of choices. Apparently the PC program adds this ability.
But the new Feature 1 circuit did work like I wanted on the pump.
