Just got Pentair Superflo VS pump up and running this week. LOVE IT. I love the ability to run at lower speed for part of the day and be able to program it the way I want. Just opened pool for season so right now I am running it at 2500 to 3000 RPM until I get pool cleaned up. Anyone that has this-I could use help understanding.

What exactly is the quick clean feature used for?

When I turn off the pump and circuit breaker to backwash and rinse, the priming sequence starts when I turn the circuit and pump back on each time. Is it possible to somehow override the priming feature since the pump is already primed?

I have had the same pump for about a year now and love it!

The quick clean feature is, as the name implies, a quick clean option. Basically regardless of what your pump is set at (mine is normally low at about 1000-1200 for circulation) if I were to hit the quick clean, it would over-ride my settings for the length I set up for quickclean (aka I could have it to 2300RPM @ 30 Minutes to get my crawler moving). Once quick clean is over, it resumes the normal programming (in my case back to 1100).

There is no way I know of to prevent that ~5 min priming everytime she turns on... I believe it is a feature just to make sure the pump doesn't drop to a low RPM and hurt the motor if its running dry for hours on end. Better to verify prime then continue on its programmed speed. Some peoples Piping/pump location may have it lose prime more easily than others from my understanding.

Hope that helps!

You shouldn't be turning the breaker off to stop the pump for backwashing. Use the start/stop button on the pump. The pump is designed to have power left on all the time and run off its own internal timer program.

Every time you start the pump it will go into its priming mode which is just a high RPM for 5 min. Then resume its programed rpm schedule. You can lower the RPM of the priming cycle and turn off the priming cycle completely if you want to by lowering the priming speed down to its minimum setting. To change priming speed when the pump starts and "Pri" is on the display use the down and up arrows to change the priming speed.

The quick clean function is a way to quickly change the pump rpm to a setting for running a pool cleaner or what ever you may want to run with an elevated pump RPM. It will ignore the internal program and run at the quick clean RPM for 2 hours then resume the standard run schedule.
