Pentair Spa Questions

I have a pentair easytouch system which i am trying to figure out little by little since my pool guy is MIA. Anyway i have a spillover spa (Cardinal) and when it is in SPA mode all 4 corners of the spa have jets that have strong pressure. However when i am in pool mode and activate my spa jets on screenlogic, only the front 2 of them are strong and the back are not. The spa controls are on the spa are open. I read somewhere that the front jets and back jets perform different functions. Is this is the case? Can someone please define how this works. I have a main pump and a booster pump. I have attached some screen shots of my intelliflo setup. This site has been so helpful. It helped me figure out how to even get the spa jets running without the heater running but now i am wracking my brain on this issue. I know the answer may be that only all 4 jets will work on SPA mode, but i just want to make absolutely sure so i can move on.

Jess,

Why in the world would you ever turn on your spa jets when in the pool mode???

The system is designed to be in either the Pool mode or the Spa mode.. If you want to use the spa, you put the system in the spa mode, then turn on the spa jets if wanted. You would not normally turn on the spa jets when in the Pool mode.

Maybe I just don't fully understand what you are doing..

If you are in the Pool mode, the spa should spillover into the pool.. This is often done by sending a little water down the spa jets line.. This extra water is just there to cause the spa to spillover into the pool.

Does your spa spillover when in the pool mode, and then stop spilling over in the Spa mode?? If so, that is how it should work.

Show me several pics of your Equipment pad and I can tell you how your system 'should' work.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Jim- thank you so much for your response. I apologize perhaps i did not explain myself correctly as i didnt think using the spa while using the pool was that crazy. Forgive me this is all new to me. We went from a simple one pump system to a 3 pump system that is all automated.
When i am in pool mode, the jets run in the pool. There are times where the kids like to stay in the pool area but the adults want to use the spa, since the spa is attached to the pool. This is where i would like to use the jets for the spa but still utilizing the pool circulation.
In regards to your question- yes my pool does do a spillover when in pool mode. If i put it in spa mode the spillover function stops.
I was able to add in my screenlogic setup the ability to turn on the jets while in pool mode however as i said it only runs the front two jets and not the back. All 4 will however run when i am in spa mode. I assume this is what is suppose to happen but i wanted to make sure.
I am attaching additional pictures of my equipment setup. Thank you in advance for your assistance and expertise.

Jess,

Thanks for the pics and nice pool/spa set up... :goodjob:

The difference between the spa mode and pool mode is that the automated "Return" valve either sends the water back to the Pool or back to the Spa.

Looking at ScreenLogic you have two different pumps that both turn on when the Spa Jets Circuit is turned on. Pump #1 appears to be your main pool pump that sends water to the Pool when in the Pool mode, or sends water to the Spa when in the Spa mode.

Pump #2 appears to be used only in the Spa mode.

I 'assume' that pump #1 is connected to the back jets and that pump #2 is connected to the front jets.

When in the Spa mode both pumps are sending water to both sets of spa jets..

But.. In the Pool mode, the main pump can only send water to the pool, and therefore no water to the back jets..

This is really a plumbing issue, not a ScreenLogic or configuration issue.

Please let me know if this does not make any sense.

Thanks,

Jim R.
