“Communication to Discovery Service failed”


What does that mean? Google provided no real answer for me.

I can connect "local" but not "remote." It was working yesterday just fine. I have hit the reset button three times on the Protocol Adapter. I have unplugged the wireless link. Still not working.

On the wireless link, the RX light is not lit....which my Google search is telling me that means it's not getting a wireless connection to the outside clam shells???? If it hit the reset button three times or unplug it, the light will blink for few seconds and then stop.

I have no idea why your system will not work in 'remote', but it is not because of the wireless links. The same wireless links are used in both the 'local' and 'remote' modes.

Local just means your phone is directly talking to your house network, while remote means that the phone is using phone lines to communicate with your home network.

Remote goes through Pentair servers in the cloud. It sounds like your system is having trouble communicating with the cloud and Pentair servers.

It could be a transient error with the servers that Pentair will resolve.

If it persists I think you need to call Pentair Support for them to explain where in the network the Discovery Service resides that is failing.

UPDATE! It's working again. So I think ajw22 might have been right....and error on Pentair servers. Thank you for the replies!
