Pentair Salt Generator oozing something

Hey Everyone,

I'm currently finishing up my pool build and noticed the salt generator oozing this grey looking stuff out. Any ideas on what it could be? Is it internal stuff leaking out or could the plumber have accidentally dripped something. When I remove the clear cover it looks like the stuff is inside the seem where the face plate mounts.

Any info is appreciated.

If it is leaking from the cell you have a serious issue..

Let's hope it is just PVC glue dripped by your plumber.. I'd removed the plastic sliding lid and see what it looks like..

What color glue did you plumber use??

I have seen cells leak water but not sealant, or caulking, of any kind.

they used grey glue..but i figured it would have dried up already. The substance on the generator is still a bit tacky. The plumbing was done weeks ago.

Bob,

That does not sound good.. I would use paint thinner or ??? And try to take some of it off and see if it comes back.

I would also take some pics and share them with Pentair and see what they have to say. If it is the cell, now is the time to fix it.
