I have an indoor pool. So the water temp is not the issue. We are in Louisiana so not a lot of time spent below freezing. Heater keeps shutting off after running for a few hours. I caught it yesterday morning off, and the water temp was 84, so it was off for a couple of hours at most. Unreadable display and unresponsive heater. Flipped breaker off and back on, and it fired right up and ran for a couple of hours and shut off again. Any ideas? thanks!

How old is the heater?

Have you looked at the diagnostic LEDs on the back of the board when it shuts down?

The following are the LEDs:

  1. .....PS (Pressure Switch)
  2. .....HLS (High Limit Switch)
  3. .....SFS (Stack Flue Sensor)
  4. .....AFS (Air Flow Switch)
  5. .....AGS (Automatic Gas Shutoff).
  6. .....Service System
  7. .....Thermistor
  8. .....Heating
  9. .....Pool On
  10. ...Spa On
  11. ...Service Heater.

had no idea there were lights like this. This heater is about 18 months old.

18 months old you may have a Connected Heater that has an updated board and displays the errors on the display.

Do the lights flash?
LEDs are just on if it has an error.

Show us pictures of the heater and the label with the manufacturing date.

Does your heater have a 5 or 6 button keypad?
