Looking for some help regarding pool heater, its a pentair master temp 400. When I turn on heater it sounds like everything starts correctly, induction fan comes on, gas flow, I hear it light and fan comes on and I feel heated exhaust blowing, but the water temp will not heat. I checked the temp reading on heater and it is set to 102, water temp is 57. after an hour of running the water temp is still at 57.

How big is your pool? If you put your hand in front of a return, do you feel hot water flowing out?
I replaced the temperature sensor but still showing wrong temp so I need to go back and look at that.
its 12,000 gal after 1 hour temp has increased to 78 degrees, years past would only take 45 min to get to 102
I think the heat is cycling on and off about every 3 min. not sure why.

Check the thermal regulator and the internal bypass.
Check the stack flue temperature.
Does your heater have a 5 button keypad or a 6 button keypad?
How old is the heater?

Are you heating the pool or the spa? If the spa, there can be other issues. If the heater is running and water is flowing, it is heating the water in the heat exchanger.
