Hello Everyone - The fun began when I opened the pool a few days ago. The heater was completely unresponsive. I tested and confirmed that the unit is getting power so I assumed that the control board was fried... I replaced the board and membrane pad this morning and when I put power to the heater, the LED lights flash and 'R03' shows up on the display, then it shuts off... I cannot find any reference to R03 anywhere and have no idea what this means. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Normal boot up is 888, 128 and then rX where X is the software revision number. The heater is then in standby mode with the display dark withing for heat commands.

Is your MasterTemp connected to any automation?

Thanks so much for reply! Yes sir, I have it connected through the IntelliTouch system. When I push the heater button on the IntelliTouch panel, it lights up for a second then it goes off. I do not see 888, 128, or 'rX'; I only see r03 for two seconds before it goes dark.

Please create your signature with details of your pool and equipment.

I suggest you open up the heater and disconnect the 2 wire cable between the IntelliTouch and the MasterTemp to restore the heater to local control. That way we determine if the problem is the heater or your ET system.

Find your "firemans switch" connection and post a pic of it.

Disconnect the two wires connected to the fireman's switch and tie the wires in the heater together to restore local control.

Then try and turn the heater on using the heater control panel.

Does your new keypad have five buttons or six buttons?

You may have the new connected heater board and keypad with a different boot sequence display.

What did you do to get it working?

Is the heater connected to your IntelliTouch using the firemans switch 2 wire connection?

I couldn't get it to work in any mode prior to replacing the board. I put it into 'Service' mode and the heater kicked on right away which I'm extremely thankful for. Yes, it is currently connected to the IntelliTouch through the Fireman's 2 wire connection.

bio,

All that ScreenLogic does is mirror what the EasyTouch is doing.

If the heater turns on in the Service mode when you push the heat button that means the EasyTouch is working. All it does is close a small relay in the ET which is part of the fireman's loop.

In auto, you don't push the heat button on the main panel. In ScreenLogic, you just make sure heater is turned on and that your set point temperature is above the temperature of the pool water.

Thanks,

@biostockman with the new board did you set maximum temperature in both POOL mode and SPA mode using the MasterTemp control panel? You set the MasterTemp control panel to max temp and your IntelliTouch does the temp regulation.

The heater comes factory set with a maximum temperature set point at 78° F (25.6 c). for the pool mode and 100° F (37.8 C). The Installation Manual describes how to increase the maximum temperature set point of the pool and spa. It involves unbolting and removing the door panels, accessing the control panel board on the underside of the top cover, and locating the yellow button on the corner of the control board.
