Pentair Intelliflo 2 VST Burn marks

Brad,

There is no screen, but I thought there was a control panel so you could manually stop and start the pump for Service Techs. Is this not the case??

Thanks,

Jim R.
There is! It's a basic 3 buttons. It's "Connect, Start/Stop, QuickClean".

So for accounts that don't have automation, I can't schedule the pump or speeds without logging in via BT or using their account on the Pentair Home app.

Brad,

So, it would work ok for a pool tech doing a normal maintenance, like cleaning the pump basket, skimmer baskets, or filter cleanings, but it would not work well for a pool tech that is trying to troubleshoot an issue with schedules, or how the system is running.

I do not see this as an issue with those homeowners that do their own pool maintenance, but I can see where this would be a pain for the Pool Techs working on pools where the owner does not do their own maintenance.

Thanks,

Jim R.

Correct!

I'll say again it's great for homeowners! Makes those adjustments more ergonomic with an app. Navigating the IntelliFlo screen isn't intuitive for most at first and it can be hard for customers to tell if they have schedules set up correctly.

We're just excited for when Pentair finally releases the screen for them!

Brad,

So, tell us more...

Will there be models that come with a Screen, or will this be an additional add on feature, like a remote wall unit?

Thanks,

Jim R.
My understanding is that it will be an optional part, but one that is built-in. This is actually one of the questions I have for our warranty training rep this month! I'd be happy to confirm this as I become more enlightened!

Brad,

Please do... :goodjob:

Thanks,

Jim,

I think we have confirmation. I missed the "on the drive" language the first time through. We were more frustrated we needed the app at all the time of first reading.

Brad,

Interesting. They have a P/N in their manual, but their site says that P/N does not exist.

Not a big deal for most owners that have automation. I don't really know why I want a screen???

My pump has a display, and I don't think that I have ever used it for anything. (The IntelliFlo at my house is the useless SVRS version and when it goes into the entrapment mode, I have to hit the reset button, but other than that, I don't use the screen for anything).

Thanks,

Jim R.

I agree that most of the time it's duplicitous. Which is almost certainly why that has been put on the back burner for development.

I do think that it's probably most requested by service technicians. We've definitely been conditioned to have the screen even when the system is connected to Automation and it was the first thing that I longed for when we started having these pumps on our routes.

I guess maybe I'm getting old and change isn't as fun as it used to be...
