I have a 38K gallon gunite pool with an attached spill-over spa. I currently use chlorine tabs for sanitation. I am looking to replace my Jandy RS automation system and install a SWG. The following is the existing equipment:

Intelliflo Variable Speed Pump Model #350305
Raypak NG Heater Model #P-R406A-EN-C
Pentair FNS PlusModel # FNSP 60
Jandy AquaLink RS Automation System
Jandy Actuators
Blower for Spa Jets
Pool Lights (2)

Based on the above equipment, I was looking at the Pentair #521903 bundle which includes the i8PS Personality kit, load center, IC40 SWG, and (2) Intellivalve valve actuators. I was also considering going with the IC60 SWG, but I do not see a bundle for the #521903 with the IC60 instead of the IC40, although PolyTec Pools looks like they offer what I'm looking for and call it the "Pentair Intellicenter i8PSIC60 Kit". Do you know if the i8PSIC60 is the same bundle as the #521903, but with the IC60 instead of the IC40? Also do you think it makes sense to go with the larger IC60 for my pool size?

Regarding remote operation, do most people just use their phones and the Pentair app, or is there an advantage to using one of the Pentair remotes?

Thank you for any guidance you can provide.

You can read about my project replacing my Aqualink with an Intellicenter in...

Polytec removes the IC40 and puts an IC60 in their i8PSIC60 bundle. That is what I got and it is well worth the upcharge for the IC60.

I had a Jandy All Button control panel in the house that I replaced with an IntelliCenter indoor control panel. I also had a Jandy 4 button spa side remote that connected to the IntelliCenter. I also have the Pentair apps on my phone, iPad, and PC.

There are things that are better done on a control panel or PC then on the phone app.

Hi Allen,

Thanks for info and the helpful link. It looks like the installation may be more complicated than I originally thought. Regarding heater control, I have a RayPak 406A NG heater. Do you know if I will be able to adjust the temp settings from the phone app as well as the Intellicenter control panel. I currently have a Jandy AquaLink and Jandy remote which I use to adjust temps and just want to verify if I will have the same functionality.

Thanks for your help; much appreciated.

Yes, the IntelliCenter heater control will work the same as your Aqualink.
