Does anyone know if the intellicenter only works with certain lights? I installed installed an intellicenter for a client who requested it. He used to have the IAquaLink Jandy system without the antenna for the app. He wanted to change to pentair so I did what he asked as well as installed a whole new Pentair system pump, heater, and filter the only thing we didn’t change out were his lights. I’m not sure what they are to be honest as I haven’t gone in and taken them out to see. I ended up hooking everything up and connecting it to automation and it works fine. The only thing is the lights won't turn on when he tries to turn it on. The light is connected to the breaker and the breaker is connected to the aux and the aux is connected to the board so I know it's connected right. But it won't turn on. But if we disconnect the aux from the breaker and just leave the light connected and flip the breaker. The light turns on. it's not an LED light by the way just a halogen. Does anyone know why that is. I know Jandy IAquaLink work with other brand light but you have to have transformers. Could this be the case here?

Welcome to TFP Danny.

The AUX relay has to be connected betweeen the light and the breaker for it to switch the light on and off.

You have something miswired.

Show us pics of the way you have the light, CB, and AUX relay wired together.

Yes, I know that's how I have it connected but it doesn't work. It only works if I connect to the breaker and use it as a light switch

I think your words do not describe how you actually wired it.

I have it connected the same way all the other equipment is connected braker to aux relay and then relay to the board but it doesn't work. What I'm thinking is that the light is a Jandy light that is not compatible with the intellicenter

You are in denial that you wired it wrong.

If it is a halogen light that just needs voltage then there can't be any incompatibility.

You either have a wiring problem or an IntelliCenter programming problem as JimR pointed out.

If the light connected directly to the CB works then you just put the AUX relay in between the CB and the hot wire of the light to switch it.

It is that simple and all you need is the AUX relay open and closing under the IntelliCenter control.

Did you hear the AUX relay click when you tried to turn the light on?

I’m asking about the incompatibility because I have another pool that has a jandy system IAquaLink system with the antenna and it has Hayward lights that are 300 Volts but then it hits a transformer. And brings it down to 12 volt and then goes into the panel. They are also halogen lights. You don’t have to be so hostile

I am trying to help you but insisting that you wired it correctly will not help with problem solving.

Hayward lights are not 300 volts.

The light transformer is a 120 volt to 12 volt transformer that can handle 300 watts of lights.

When you go back to that job get some pics to show us and we can help you figure it out quickly.

Yes I hear the click but nothing happens. At first I though the light didn’t work anymore but then I tried it with just the cb and it worked

I’m not insisting anything I just asking questions and I can send you some pictures next time I go
