Pentair iChlor30 Leaking

I noticed yesterday that My Ichlor 30 SWG has a slow leak, measured at 4 oz per hour. It appears to be coming from underneath the small black housing that the temp sensor screws into. No signs of a leak at the sensor itself. My unit is almost 4 years old so out of warranty. Researching here and on Reddit, I've seen a few with the same issue, but no posted root cause or solutions (other than replacing the entire unit).

Has anyone had this problem and found an economical solution to the leak?

Welcome to TFP.

IChlor is low quality which is one of the reasons Pentair has replaced them with IntelliChlor LT…

Thanks Allen. Started looking at replacing with an IntelliChlor unit. I converted our pool to a SWG system when resurfaced almost 4 years ago. At the the time, my pool contractor could get the iChlor 15 or 30. Our pool is 14,000 gal, so the contractor suggested the iChlor 30 to have some margin for hot FL summers. With the IntelliChlor units, the readily available models are the 20 and 40. I believe the 20, which requires no plumbing changes would fit my needs. Any thoughts? BTW I did notice the steep price differential between Pentair's old style units and these new ones, ouch.

I would recommend the IC40. You can check with Marina Pool Spa in Denver for availability.
I believe you will have to do some plumbing work as the Intellichlor is longer than the iChlor.

Get the IC40 if you can get it for a good price and will adjust the pipes.

Otherwise the new LT25 or Plus30 are direct drop in replacements.

I would not get the IC20.

Ok thanks. Right now it's dripping so slowly, I'm catching and recycling the dripping water. If I can get another summer out of my unit, it would be helpful.

BTW what's the issue with the IC20? Just that it's undersized for my 14,000 gal pool?
