Moved from here... Pentair iCHLOR - Page 2

Hi,
I have a question to clarify the iCHLOR standalone mode. Will I need the PC110 power center in order to wire the ichlor to my intelliflo or will the PC100 work? If the PC100 works do I just strip the connector on the COM cable and screw it to the terminals?

Help is much appreciated. Contemplating the ichlor 30 for my bare-bones setup to convert SWG.

dhc,

I don't believe that the pump and power center can actually talk with one another... Of course I could have missed something new, but in general both the IntelliFlo and the SWCG are controlled by one of Pentair's automation systems.

The automation system tells the pump when to run and at what speed, and it also tells the SWCG what output percentage to use. The automation also only applies power to the SWCG's power supply when the pump is supposed to be running.

What is it that you are trying to do?

If you believe that I am wrong, please point me to the documentation that you are using, so that I can also learn something.. :p

Thanks,

Jim R.

SmartSense™ Flow Detection:

Connecting the iChlor SCG to an IntelliFlo pump (stand-alone mode).

SmartSense Flow Detection technology allows the connection of an IntelliFlo Variable Speed Pump via RS-485 communication to an iChlor SCG power center while in stand-alone mode by simply attaching the RS-485 cable from the pump to the RS-485 connector located in the iChlor Power Center (see iChlor Power Center Wiring Diagram at the bottom of the next page).

SmartSense is a safety feature that will continually monitor the status of the IntelliFlo pump before generating chlorine.

Thanks James,

I missed that.. I did look at the manual you listed but overlooked the SmartSense.. I was focused on the wiring an never saw a drawing of just the SmartSense wiring.

dhc,

The cable that comes from the Intelliflo only has two wires.. Green to Pin 2 of the power center com port and Yellow to pin 3...

Just a heads up... We always recommend a SWCG that is at least 2 x the size of your pool.. We do this because cells are rated when running at 100% output and 24/7. We do not recommend a 30K cell for a 29K pool. But that is obviously up to you.

Sorry I could not help with your initial question about the power supply model.

Thanks,

Jim R.
