Pentair IC60 Blinking "Check Cell" Light

Had my pool opened on April 25. The water was too cold for the salt cell to kick on, but once the water warmed up, the Pentair IC 60 "Check Cell" light was blinking green with all other lights indicating normal operation (i.e., temperature, salt level, flow). I had the pool company come out. They check the cell and said the plates look good and are having it replaced under warranty but there are no IC60's in stock and are uncertain when they can obtain one with the supply issues everyone is experiencing. I saw this thread: Pentair IC 40 blinking Check Cell w no Calcium deposit and was hopeful there might be an easy fix for mine, so I don't have to go a whole season without my salt cell.

I have a video of me running the diagnostics at the link below.

IntelelliCenter reports the temperature at 84°F with a Salt Level of 3,800. Using a K-1766 test results in the same salinity reading. Any help would be appreciated!

Jess,

How old is the cell?

Assuming from 2018 and the size of your pool, my guess is that the cell has run out of gas.

When the cell light is blinking and the cell is clean, it is almost always a bad cell. Sometimes you can increase the salt level and get it to last a little while longer.

Thanks,

Jim R.

It was first put into operation in June 2020. It ran from June through October 2020 and April through October 2021. Given the size of my pool it had to run at about 80% most of the time. I was afraid it might be the issue that it has run out of gas. Thanks for the feedback!

My ic60 did the same thing with cold temperature(instead of Cold water shut off, clean cell lit up), its started to work again after a few days. Try to wait a little longer.
