Pentair Heater Won't Start from App / Easytouch

We have an integrated pool and spa and have a daily schedule of turning on the pump and heating for each side. This has worked flawlessly for most of the time we've owned the house (< year). Sometime in the last few months, the heater stopped initiating from the app. The app and easytouch panel will show the heater on per the schedule and water temp / temp setting, but the heater itself doesn't initiate. When manually started by pushing the spa button on the unit, it works fine. Interestingly, the app will turn the heater off. I've read every thread I can find, but haven't found one that seems to address this issue. Help appreciated!

47,

To control the heater, the EasyTouch just closes, or opens, a small relay on the main board.

If you disconnect the two wires going to the heater connection, you can run a simple test. When the two wires are connected together (shorted), the heater should heat.. When the two wires are not connected (open) then the heater should not heat.

If the heater does not heat when the two wires are connected together, the problem is not in the EasyTouch.

The EasyTouch does not control anything else.. The heater has to be set to on and full hot..

This assumes that you are using the gas heat connection and not the RS-485 (com port) connection that some of the new heaters have.

Thanks,

Jim R.
