Pentair EasyTouch Relay Clicking

Hello!

I have a Pentair EasyTouch subpanel with motherboard #520659.

I came home this afternoon and found the pool pump was off and the panel completely shut down. After flipping the main panel breaker off and then back on I could hear the EasyTouch panel had a relay rapidly switching. After looking at a little closer, I found the heater button on the easy touch panel switching on and off continuously. If I hold my finger on the heater button and stop it from cycling the panel remains on and everything works properly. What steps shoild I take to isolate the issue?

I flipped off the breaker for the heater as well as disconnected the signal wires from the inside panel. Also cleared eeprom settings. Relay is still rapidly clicking.

Thanks for any help! Joe

Joe,

Did you push the reset button on the main panel?

If you erased the EEPROM, you now have no programming in the system..

What do you use to control the system? Pentair Remotes, ScreenLogic, or just the main panel?

Do you have a wired spa side remote??

Let's see if Tom has any inputs... Calling @ogdento

Thanks,

Jim R.

I bet the driver chip(s) and/or the cup that controls the driver is bad.

Easiest thing would be to order a couple of unl2803a chips and swap them out. I have a post with instructions on my blog, linked in my signature

Hi Jim. It does have a spa side remote. I disconnected it from the motherboard but it had no effect. Thanks for the reply
