Pentair Clean and Clear 200 union leaking

Hi @1poolman1 I have the same issue as the OP, just with the higher up pipe (inflow). I searched inyopools for this part number but nothing comes up. Is there someplace else I can find it?

Inyopools has this "union diamond seal" part listed. Is it the same thing as the O ring? Pentair Union diamond seal - 178746z - INYOPools.com

Here…or google pentair #071426 and you’ll come up with plenty of options to source the o-ring.

Have never seen that part, but it looks to be much too large for the union.

I actually ordered mine from Leslie's, but it's going to take a while. I'm in Florida, so thanks to Hurricane Milton and daily rains, I can wait a few more days without worrying about water loss.

Thanks, everyone. I went ahead and ordered the "union diamond seal" from Leslie's and will see how it goes (picture attached). If that doesn't fix the leak then I'll try the regular o-ring.

I just received an e-mail that my union o-ring is ready for pickup. I'm going to change it out on Monday when my pool tech changes the filter as I need his assistance in getting the lid off. I will let you know how it goes.

So, I removed my o-ring, and it is indeed #071426, but my filter is not an "RP" model. Perhaps the union diamond seal is exclusive to the RP model?

I installed the new o-ring today, and the leak seems to be fixed. I initially hand-tightened the union nut, but it wasn't tight enough, so water flooded out of the pool filter outlet when I turned it on. I unscrewed the union nut again, reseated the o-ring, then pushed the housing toward the swivel. While pushing the swivel and housing together, I tightened the union nut, using a strap wrench to tighten it more. Having someone push the swivel and housing together while I tightened the union nut would have made the task a lot easier.
